We are taught that in the second world war, in the so called 'holocaust', six million Jews were killed, mainly in gas chambers.1 This teaching is disputed by some. Major and minor elements of this teaching are investigated and with arguments, so presumed, falsified.

An example of these elements regards the mentioned number of six million. This number is disputed on base of calculations of demographics and the practicality of gassing and disposing of such an immense amount of people. We shall not go into these arguments here.

Interesting for our line of contemplation is that the suffering of six million Jews has been written about by (Jewish) authors long before the second world war even commenced. Such writings go back as early as 1900, they exceed one hundred cases, and they are even found in reputed sources such as The New York Times and The Encyclopædia Britannica.2, 3 In the 1900's there is a long line of publications mentioning the suffering of six million Jews, of which the post war mentions seem to be only a continuation.

The ultimate origin of the concept of six million suffering Jews is not clear. Someone may have taken the number randomly, it may have been estimated on base of certain givens at that time, it may be part of a presupposed revelation, and it may have a symbolical value.

And symbolically the number six is indeed related to Judaism. Six is the number of Satan, who regards the planet and god Saturn, who regards Jhwh, who is worshipped in Judaism.4, 5, 6

Peculiarly the number 6000000 has also six zero's. And the number six can be considered as consisting of six one's (1+1+1+1+1+1). So binary the number of six million consists of six one's and six zero's.

Now geometrically a '1' can be seen as a line and a '0' as a point. And when we geometrically assemble them together we arrive at a hexagon or a six pointed star, as shown below in figure 1.

Interesting about the above finding is that the planet Saturn features on its north pole a visible hexagon shape and that Judaism is symbolized by a six pointed star. The number of six million then can along the present line of contemplation be considered as an accurate symbol of Judaism itself.

With the above findings nothing is stated about the reality of the suffering of six million Jews. This may or may not have happened. The aim of this contemplation was only to show how the number of six million stands peculiarly symbol for Judaism.
