In '(Spiritueel) fascisme' [English: '(Spiritual) Fascism'] fascism was detached from Nazism. Nazism was therein described as a specific form of fascism which is characterized by racism, imperialism and dictatorialism, while fascism in its generality is characterized by the totalitarianism of the one people, the nationalism of the one realm and the authoritarianism of the one leader. Fascism as a political system then does not necessarily carry with itself the burden of Nazism. Widened it can be characterized by humanism, unionism and presidentialism, and deepened by spiritism, hierarchism and Christism.1
Actually this latter form of fascism was already implicitly discussed in 'Een opzet voor een metafysicratisch manifest' [English: 'A Setup for a Metaphysicratic Manifest'] where a political system was promulgated wherein the one people of a nation choose that one enlightened leader.2 This form of fascism unites the philosopher king as Plato foresaw him with the democratic principles which he rejected.3, 4
Plato rejected democracy as a political system because chaotic people would choose chaotic leaders, and also therefore in ['A Setup for a Metaphysicratic Manifest'] it was proposed to spiritually bring up and educate voters.5 Thus is arrived at a form of democracy that is also proposed by Alice Bailey.6, 7 This is actually to which is referred when in publications is spoken about 'spiritual fascism'. It is the choice of a spiritual people for an enlightened leader for their nation.
Now the name of the present contemplation is 'The Netherfascist Flag', and by now it may be clear that the word 'fascist' in that term relates to a spiritual fascism. The term 'Nether' as prefix is further often used to refer to matters that are related to the Netherlands, and 'Netherfascist' then relates here to a Dutch spiritual fascism.
Now in ['(Spiritual) Fascism'] spiritual fascism was symbolized with a red cross (the nation) which connects a black periphery (the people) with a white point (the leader),8 and it may be interesting and fun to also design a specific symbology for Netherfascism.
Now above the colors red, white and black were mentioned, but the colors which belong to the Netherlands are of course the vermilion red, the white and the cobalt blue of the Dutch flag. Throughout the centuries it occurred in different variations. The original flag would be the prince's flag, with colors of orange, white and standard blue (the so called 'oranje-blanje-blue'),9, 10 and the subsequent state flag from the comparable period consisted of the colors red, white and light blue. We see the aforementioned flags depicted below.
Figures 1, 2, 3: The prince's flag, the state flag and the Dutch flag.
That the prince's flag had orange of course had to do with the House of Orange-Nassau, which played an important role in the history of the Netherlands.11 The monarchy in the Netherlands still follows the bloodline of this House, and the tricolor is supplemented with an orange pennant on royal holidays. In short, the working colors for designing our symbology are the three basic colors of vermilion red, white and cobalt blue plus the added color of orange.
As said the color orange stands symbol for the House of Orange-Nassau, however about the origin and meaning of the other colors there is no consensus. It is popular to connect the vermillion red with courage, assertiveness and the blood of the freedom fighters, the white with purity, peace and honesty, and the cobalt blue with loyalty, justice and the sea.
Extending the above symbology, the vermillion red can here be taken as a symbol of the blood of the one Dutch people. This does not have a racial connotation. Regardless of the skin color, red blood flows through the veins of every Dutch person. Therefore the vermillion red is a good color to symbolize the one people.
The cobalt blue then can be taken to symbolize the one Dutch leader or king. This of course is not per se a member of the House of Orange-Nassau, given that our Netherfascism promulgates a chosen philosopher king. This being chosen has to do with the above mentioned loyalty, for by choosing the voter shows a certain loyalty to his chosen king. But the cobalt blue also has more directly to do with kingship. A king is of nobility12 and of a noble person it is said that he has blue blood running through his veins.
The white then stands symbol for the one realm. The state itself is pure of color, colorless, and is colored by the choices of people and king.
The organge, as a closure, can in our Netherfascism not stand symbol anymore for the House of Orange-Nassau. The king in Netherfascism is chosen in a democratic way and a member of the House of Orange-Nassau is a people member among the people members and may at his best run for election. Nevertheless this house has throughout the centuries been important for the unity of the Netherlands, and it is this unity which the color orange in our Netherfascist flag shall symbolize. The orange can also be related to the sun and stand for the soul and vitality of the Netherlands.13
So in our Netherfascist flag the vermillion red stands for the people, the white for the realm, the blue for the king and the orange for the unity. In this contemplation a flag is proposed as shown below. A vertical orange stripe is placed on the Dutch flag that connects the three other colors. On the second image the symbology is explicitly mentioned.
Figures 4, 5: The Netherfascist flag and its symbology.
We see that the symbology is almost perfect. As the realm is the mediating given between the people and the king, as was contemplated in '(Spiritual) Fascism', the white is the mediating stripe between the vermillion red and the cobalt blue. And the orange stripe of the connecting unity then runs as a vertical stripe over the three aforementioned.
With this then the present contemplation can be closed. Long live the philosopher king!
